Concept design of water tower refurbishment in Pszczyna / Poland

The historical building from 1924 after intervention in its original structure has lost its initial nature. Negative evaluation of present condition makes us think about the shape of new redevelopment. There is a need to thoroughly evaluate the positive aspects as well as the elements that should be reduced – respecting the nature of the object and it’s marketing image. Since the Water Tower is dominant in Pszczyna’s landscape it can become another symbol, a landmark of a city known mainly of its monuments and its history.

While creating the building’s shape we would like to use its biggest asset: observation deck. Cropping the main terrace in the direction of Pszczyna’s monuments makes the best observation deck in the city. The creation of separate functional areas allows to increase the number of simultaneously happening events in newly created object.
